Criterion 6: Demonstrates involvement in engagement activities related to teaching and learning and enhancing student success and development

My passion for the use of ICT for teaching and learning, has not only assisted me to develop a positive reputation among peers and my students, it also assisted me to plough back knowledge and skills through the development of an SLP and outreach initiative to assist and enable learners and teachers to work with ICT resources. These engagement activities lead to receiving the NMMU Emerging Engagement Award in 2012. I also make use of module evaluation from students and personal reflection in order to re-think and re-develop and adjust my existing modules and teaching strategies. This will became evident in the following sub-sections. Since 2012, I have still been actively engaged, which will be seen in te following sub-sections.
